Who from CV One is actually a judge? all the others had names attached to them.

The 20 shorlisted bands for the Godiva Unsigned competition have been announced. Heats will take place on 2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd May with the final taking place on 6th June.

Congratulations to all who made it through and thanks to everyone who took part.

if the organisers of Keresley wanna chuck me a couple of thousand flyers i will happily distribute them at Godiva, at least we can make godiva work for the local scene in that sense and pimp out a festival that does give a flying fuck about our scene.

Just to back up Rig's point, none of the bands that got onto the shortlist are members of this forum. Just thought you would like to know that before the backlash begins... too late!

i best point out to CV One that i am not involved with Fedja and Co's tender at this stage, I merely helped out at the planning stage, don't want my views tied in with what they are doing.

I guess i can't have too many complaints cos we didn't enter (but i highly doubt we would've prgressed to the heats anyway) but i think CV One have dived into year 5 of a five year plan. It would have been much more sensitive to all involved to increase the midlands representation year on year, start with a couple of out of town bands this year with all the heats in Cov then build on that next year. The way this has been done is really sudden and obviously left a bad taste in many mouths. The real problem here is once we 'lose' something its nigh on impossible to get it back, so welcome to the new format for godiva unsigned folks, best get used to it. in the mean time i suggest we all make Keresley what Godiva should be.

Rider are a member of this forum... so at least one Cov scene band to support! I was surprised at the amount of brummy bands, but we are chuffed to get through to the heats nonetheless.

Hopefully some people on here will come along on May 23rd to give a Cov band your vote.

I love how whenever asked a direct question or when you directly confront them, CVOne and it's staff just blank it and ignore that it ever happened, rude and arrogant i think. Like i said before, they were entrusted with COVENTRY city councils money, to put on a festival which furthers the concerns of COVENTRY and they then took a huge dump on COVENTRY while running off to get bummed by some Brummy promoters who their so blatantly involved with. That is miss appropriation of funds and a public inquiry should be held to find out how, why, who, what, where and when they took these decisions and how exactly have they performed to the specifications of their obligations.

They don't respond and for the most part take down anything that isn't deemed as beneficial from their boards, People have tried contacting them for 3 months and got no response, the 20 that got cut from the final 40 didn't even get told either i don't think. Their too up their own arse to think they have to talk to the silly bands and public.

why does it say rider are a leicester band? i would never dream of voting anythin involved with that dump. xxx
