Keresley Main Stage Line up!!

Martin,stop moaning and groaning and just get on with it,its a gig man, thats all, you ain't doing yourself any favours going on about it, there is a lot of good bands around (including you guys, Andy's a good friend of mine) but you don't see them moaning all the time when things don't go their way.

I went on to this thread to get info on the day, not seeing all this bollox. nothing personal.

Listen, i wasn't moaning and groaning, if you took the time to read what i said you would see that. All i did was point out a discrepancy with what we had been told, nothing more. We applied to play Kersely and didn't get on and we applied to play Godiva and didn't get in, we are getting on with it and my last post on here in this thread before this one was on the 6th of April regarding Kersely and i didn't even mention about our disappointment at being ignored for Godiva, i just said that we had not heard back and then congratulated the Shackletons. Then i GOT ON WITH IT by trying to sort out some alternative gig routes with other peeps on here. You said nothing personal at the end of what you wrote like, maybe not, but unnecessary i would say.

I think that the organisers have put a quality event on here. At the end of the day every act cannot be catered for and this shouldn't be taken personally.

Again, X number of people moan that there isn't enough live music (also moan if covers bands are involved) around these parts so a select group of people, for no monetary gain of their own, organise these events and get grief for it. Just being a band from Coventry doesn't guarantee a right to play these events!

We missed out on both Kersely and Godiva, yet apparently were one of the best local bands according to lots of people, so you figure it out. Just don't try scoring points off me because i won't make it easy.

I'm one of the organisers and I haven't taken a single thing you've said personally or with any kind of offense. As I said, I admire your balls in saying what was on your mind - got no problem at all with it.

I also understand your disappointment at not being on the line up. I honestly don't think anybody is (or should be) having a go personally.

Like a lot of other bands, Reubens Cane are a group of people I respect and admire as musicians and like an awful lot as people too.

It would be the easiest thing for us to fill an entire line up with our favourite bands or our mates and if we did, Reubens Cane would be on every single one of them.

I can't suggest for a second that we have the perfect formula, but I CAN say that we've done things with the sincerest intention of being as fair as we can to the audience, the local music community, AND ourselves.

I do know exactly where you're coming from and as I said, I've not found or taken offense to anything you've said.

So to everybody - let's just move this conversation on now and look forward to having a great day whether we're playing or not. Remember, the whole idea is that this thing COULD be a benefit to ALL of us in increasing local interest in local music.

OUR line up is just as good quality as Godiva's, without a single signed band on the bill.

Let's all pull together and PROVE IT.

Glad that you guys at Kerseley know i wasn't ever complaining/questioning or bitching, as really you guys do an awesome job and i never meant any ill feeling ever.

haha nobody in particular, just compared to two, three years ago the majority of heavier bands that are good (in my opinion) are miniscule

sooo looking forward to this, some prime Cov talent on display!

I reckon if all the bands pushed hard enough we could be looking at in excess of 2000 punters, and considering that the G Factor tent used to max 600 thats not too bad a return in my book

If anyone knows anyone with money to burn then we could do another Covstock, until then I think the scene will be blanked by not only people like CVone (have they moved to brum or somat?) but the general public too.
