Creation in Coventry (CIC) Magazine

alright good people of cov, we are CIC mag and would invite you to have a look and get involved with whats going on at www.cicmag.t83.net

we are not and will never be competition to anyone on this site, and the creators of this site but we have all things creative from bands to shops and pubs to artists. if you creative and from cov (or the surrounding areas) then get in contact. if you've got nothing going on right know then get put on the directory for people to use, if you've got an event on then let us know and we'll put you up in as many places as possible. if you've got a story, a write up or some creative writing and we'll put you up... you get the picture, we'll put most things up.

if you really can be bothered you can join and pass on info to people in the forum, its not exactly rammed in there at the mo but we'd like CIC to become a source for the people of cov to find out about whats going on in one place. we'd like businesses to advertise, bands to promote themselves, shops to shout about their cool stuff and everyone to have a crack and bring all the people trying to do stuff of their own back to the forefront of the city.

we've had just under 650 hits in a week, and would like to get more and more going on in CIC. We don't want much from you, just a few mins of your time to see if its up your alley.

Another forum, gripes!!!

Welcome to Covmusicscene CICMAG, and good luck with your venture. It's heartening to read you are enthusiastic for all things musical in Coventry. We welcome your forum for discussion of things happening on your website, and please feel free to join in all the discussion available here from the majority of Coventry bands and artists.

So what is the history behind your venture, are you musical ?!

no musical talent in us, although we quite like the clash and the bluetones but CIC is all about whats going on, features, news, videos, members offers and then the forum. CIC is created for people who want to show off what they do. bands are more than welcome but so are ravers, chefs, shops, painters, writers and anyone else who is creative and giving it a go.

most creative sources in cov are split, offering limited resources about single genres so we want to glue it all together and give everyone a good old showing off. hopefully some old hardcore raver might see that there's a decent band on at the Kasbah and give it a go, some hippie might see that Garb has 15% off and try something new - who knows - long live the dream

Great idea to bring a whole load of things together under one brolly. And no need to worry about competition here - this is really just for a load of us with one particular common interest - we leave the 'empire building' to the dark side .

Anyway once again, welcome, and feel free to visit us and tell us what stuff you've got going on.

You might even want to do something on Keresley Rock Festival 2010 - THE local music event that's going to rock Cov & Warks in July?

we'd defo like to put something on CIC about the rock festival. can you give us a little more detail or point us in the direction of somewhere that can, if there's an image even better. we'll add it into the news and features pages and nearer the time we will put it as the main home page intro.

if anyone else has got other things going on, even just a gig or a new demo, single, album, event or anything. tell us and we will put you up. its for everyone to use.

CIC have been very good with EE and done a fair bit of coverage for us.

get involved peeps, within two hours of submitting articles/requests ours have been online with them!

rock n roll baby. the rock festival is up and running on our features page. we've stuck you guys at the top because we love that image. if we've got anything wrong then let us know, but fingers crossed we can get a few folk onto your facebook page.

Anyway, perhaps some introductions are in order....

I'm John Oliver - I run The Sound Foundry and Merch Foundry in Nuneaton. We're rehearsal rooms and we do band merch too. Most people know us - I've been like a bad smell for donkey's years round these parts, mostly as a promoter in Cov venues, and doing stuff like the Covstock events and now Keresley Rock Festival.

Everyone else can introduce themselves.

How about you guys? Are you known to us already or new to these parts?

we are an invisible force, a hyper-sonic group called CIC. we are here to bring together creative people in cov and then send them off to places like this or facebook or wherever else for more info.
