These entries are automatically done...I just entered the event details in the Calender. Just pop alon and veiw the bands' Myspace pages, better than any description.

Too lazy just lie the majority of the gig going public

In all seriousness, whats the point of plugging a gig at this level without describing the band?

Post rock and grind fall under that heading but chances are fan of one wont be a fan of the other.

I try not to catagorise bands....what the fook is 'post rock'?

We are trying not to have one of the problems that the Tuns had, with a genre-specific crowd only turning up when that genre of band are playing. For example, just this week, we had a straight 'Metal' band playing to a Goth crowd, the previous night, we had Bikers 'Jiving' with Punks in front of a Rockabilly band.

We are about bringing the 'Rock/Metal' genres together, not alienating them.

I understand and applaud what you are trying to achieve dont et me wrong but some more information will get people into the pub who wouldnt normally

Also go google post rock, it will be under rock/metal

Dude, why are you talking about this like we're some kind of huge music venue? We are a 100 capacity "pub" who happens to have live bands play every weekend, it is not what we're all about, it's a pub A PUB! Get it? We only have one room, free entry, the bands don't take all night so people can come and see live music if they want or come after when our DJs do their slots & enjoy a wide range of rock & a friendly atmosphere. We already have a good amount of regulars and new faces coming every week, and they're coming back! We don't just want to aim at one specific crowd, the ages of our customers range widely so we like to make sure we have something for everybody.

As for the above comment you made, are you a promoter by any chance? Let me ask you this, why on earth would we pay a promoter to get the word out about our gigs when like i said, we have regulars who fill the place every weekend anyway? I am the one who sets up the "events" on facebook & i do the posters, albeit crudely, but it has done the job so far, bearing in mind we are still a new pub, we ain't doing too badly at all!


There is another solution to your irrational problem with it all............... if you don't like it, sod off somewhere else!

As for irrational problem i have been in once and when you book a band i like or may possibly like based on a description or a MySpace link i will come again

No not really is it, its a genre thats been around for many years and something i believe you are mistaking for one of the emo or hardcore offshoots that are given strange names by these so called "spazzy" kids.

Well are you on our facebook friends list? Who are you & we can add you? So long as you don't fill our wall with bile soaked comments about how crap you think we are, like i said, those who don't like our place don't have to come!

The reason i bought that up is because at the moment while we're still getting on our feet facebook is where we post all our events, in time we will do more advertising further afield. It's still early days after all.

I have no point of reference except for a single visit to suggest you are crap, i have raised two points that could be regarded as negative count em .... two!
one was the Carling tasted off which was because the cooler was up the spout, now sorted. Point of post accomplished
and i have suggested that adding more info or a myspace link to the events will attract more people, which in turn helps you out.
If you can climb down from that high horse of yours and stop being so ridiculously defensive maybe you will get that point. Or you can continue looking foolish which of course will reflect on your place of work.
