Re: Godiva Fringe
a lot of people from within Cov's music community have donated their services generously free of charge to avoid this having an admission price
our aim is to expand the local element of Godiva Festival
personally i think it ties in nicely with Godiva, this on the Friday, Whatever Stage on the Saturday
there is a bar of course

Re: Godiva Fringe
We've kindly been given what we asked for and it's a great opportunity to cement this new addition to the Godiva festival for future years. It needs to support of the whole community so get involved! If you've not been in B2 yet it's probably one of the best venues in the city and with the PA that's going in there it's gonna sound immense.

Re: Godiva Fringe
That's ok then, if it was against Ash I was going to declare you suck my fat one. As this is not the case I'll be there.
Re: Godiva Fringe
haha sound!
you seriously think Mofo would have worked through a free Ash festival slot in his own backyard?

Re: Godiva Fringe
this is full steam ahead now, fair play to CV One who have had to pull a number of strings with the powers that be to ensure the outdoor bit goes ahead.
really looking forward to it, some awesome bands who i have only just been turned on to.
if you haven't spread the love already please do so, a succesful event this year will open many doors for many local bands at next years Godiva Festival

If England are playing in the Quarter Finals that day, you will need another bass player

Re: Godiva Fringe
heh, thats not the kind of public backing we had in mind mate
yup, unfortunately the date is the date and obviously the way the footie pans outs will no doubt affect numbers during 7:30 - 9:15 (not everyone likes football so we still envisage a crowd during the match) and also why we had a few initial issues with the authorities with the outdoor bit in a city centre etc which CV One have since resolved.
but England will propbably screw up and finish the group 2nd or not reach the qtr's at all....
the whole thing gets moved indoors only at 9:15pm (final whistle) at which stage the capacity is set at 280 people

Re: Godiva Fringe
obviously no clash with the England match now for the Quarters so absolutely no need to miss this Fringe event.
a great couple of weekends of local music for July with about 60 local bands performing on local stages across two weekends....

Re: Godiva Fringe
This is the down side of winning the Godiva unsigned thing. I fear if England do get to the quarters then the crowd may be seriously diminished. . . . I can't even be sure the whole band will be there. . . our stage time is 2:30pm, we have a 30min slot, kick off at 3pm. I'm sure they wont mind if we cut our set short by 5mins so we can get to a tv.
Re: Godiva Fringe
You'll be fine Dan. I'm sure they'll whack a tele backstage!
