Topic New website / track(s) / gigs

Post by Dale Hermit Sun May 02, 2010 10:28 am

After a brief break we are back for the summer with a host of new things for you! Firstly, a new website (kinghermit.com) hope you like it and if you spot any mistakes or things that don't work then please let us know on the forum.

To go with the new website we also have some brand new songs which we'll put up for a week each so you can have a taste, First is a new song called 'Vile High Club' which you can listen to on the front page of the website or the myspace page ( http://www.myspace.com/kinghermit ), feedback is greatly appreciated.

We also have a bunch of new dates (and more to be confirmed):

28/05/10 - The George - Bilton

11/06/10 - The Kasbah (supporting Hot Club De Paris)- Coventry

10/07/10 - Keresley Rocks! Festival - Coventry

06/08/10 - Fleur De Lys - Nuneaton

We have tons of other stuff for the summer so look out for more news from us, thanks for sticking with us and we hope to see
you all at a gig or two.

I dont think the drums are out of time and im a human metronome. The starting and stopping is just the nature of the song too. But well done for providing feedback! Go analyze our song, pleeease

If you're talking about Scare Tactics then that was recorded at the Motor Museum, if you mean the new one then that was done at Vada Studios.

video isn't that new, it was a promo thing for post New York and is more a placeholder for now. Don't know why you think it's out of time though?! wierd.

But yeah thanks for looking/watching, and telling us what you think.

Like your stuff man were these recorded at moonbase?? you can tell you have taken time and thought about structuring .. I would say that you could benifit from a better sound on the guitars maybe a bit of delay in places to give them a more spacey feel although I like what you are playing. drumming sounds tight and the bass is good with a nice overdrive sound here and there .. Vox are good esp with a bit of vocal overdrive which works well and maybe should be used more to give you your own sound. sometimes songs sound a little empty and your writing suits that real wall of sound (think the Music esq) Good stuff though In a word I "like".

Your very accurate in your analysis:

We recorded at moobase!
Someone has advised more delay on the guitar before!
The Drumming is awesome New website / track(s) / gigs Icon_lol
And The Music are one of the 4 bands I like!

If we had the time and money we'd have really gone to town on the recordings. But these really were very quickly done, and we had no time or money to polish at all.. so we're really happy with the way they've come out.

Glad you liked! New website / track(s) / gigs Icon_biggrin

The site is brilliant - straightforward and clean and well thought out.

The tracks are banging too.

The thing that has struck me about KH is that you've really come into your own and there's a very definite point where things started to come together big time - it wasn't a slow evolution - it was a definite 'big bang' about 18 months to 2 years ago.

A grossly under-recognised band, one of Coventry's sparkliest little hidden gems - watch this space cos nothing will surprise me with this bunch.

don't know anything about constructing websites, but would be cool if the music keeps playing whilst browsing rest of site - i went on for a listen, flicked to gallery and music cut out - anyway to be able to do both?

otherwise cool and v impressive

Yeah If I knew what I was doing then yeah that'd be possible New website / track(s) / gigs Icon_biggrin

I'll look into that though but pretty sure things like that have to be in .php and I only know how to do html.

Good feedback though, thanks for taking the time to look.

Tempo is a touch slower than when you play it live isnt it? Except in the chorus, did you use a click? Nice, live-ish sound you got there though. Not too layered either, at least you cant tell too much if it has.

I'd also have the solo quite a bit louder and the guitar underneath it down a bit. But thats just me probably.

Yes to click and for the benefit of all future comments we used click on all tracks, Matt Terry insists.

Tempo is slower, it's so the melody can breath abit. For us it's about making live songs into pop songs when recording, essentially.

Thanks for listening, and the feedback.
