Cheers to the lads that came down, it was a wicked gig, but very sweaty! Just wanted to say that I thought this was a right good very venue, nice and compact, you're well looked after and its just a nice happy atmosphere, if your band is in the rock category then its well worth getting a gig there

Close but not quite there..... All genre specific venues that have gone to absolute shit because of it.

The rising sun is a pub that has bands, not a live music venue. Also the 3 places you mentioned were all frequented by the same people, the rising sun seems to have a totally different crowd, the metal crowd who until this place opened wentnovrr to brum to drink. I think that there is a need for this place and I also think it will be well used for many years to come. The guy who runs it knows what he is doing and seems well respected by the metal crowd.

Yeah I agree with Markyg,

Jason. Loz and the rest of the crew at The Rising Sun are old time metalheads, they know what the people want and that's a good pub with good beer, good music and friendly faces.

It's not a live venue, it's a pub that has bands on to play.

The guys that drink in there on a regular basis you will not see down the Cross or when they were open the Tuns or Jailhouse, they are old time bikers some of whom I have know for years. And they are very reasonable people who will not diss bands for any reason, all that pub wants is to be a welcoming place for everybody and for them people to have a bloody good night out!!

So get your asses down to the Rising Sun tomorrow night as Scarlet's Wake (www.myspace.com/scarletswake) are playing. They are friends of mine I think they are bloody awesome!!!!!

Oh believe me, i didn't jump on the attack, i was actually quite amused by it! I am very calm indeed! As for the friendly staff though, yeah i guess i can be a total bitch but sometimes it's good to have someone on board who is prepared to say what they think, however brutal it may be! Other than that i like to be as friendly to other people as they are to me!
