12 BANDS OF CHRISTMAS @ THE RISING SUN - STARTING FRIDAY DECEMBER 18TH WITH MOTORKILL. 12_ban10

DECEMBER 18TH - MOTORKILL

A ball-crunching, ferocious, non-stop rock n' roll tribute to the loudest and dirtiest rock band on the planet. Taking the four-piece line-up from the early 90's faithfully reproduces the massive wall of sound that is Motorhead.
The look of the band on stage is authentic
Phil Campbell : cowboy hat & long leather coat;
Wurzel : bandanna, wrist bands, and bullet belt;
Mikkey Dee: the powerhouse with muscles and blonde locks.
And finally, Lemmy complete with iron cross, shades, white cowboy boots - and of course, his original 1975 Rickenbastard bass.

DECEMBER 19TH - FAITH NO MAN
"Faith No Man" is a tribute to all era's of the late and great Faith No More. Born in March 2008 the band boasts ex-members from noteable Midlands metal bands such as "Streamline" and "Beholder". The band is set to take over stages very soon with the recording of a 4 track EP on the horizon.

DECEMBER 20TH - MENTALLICA

Mentallica have earned a reputation as Europe's top Metallica tribute. Recently receiving a glowing gig review from a Metclub Chapter Head. Playing across Europe and at some of the UK's top Biker shows such as Wozwolf and The Rock & Blues Custom Show and at major venues and Universities. The start of 2009 has seen the tragic loss of our great friend and manager Jeff Powles but his vision for the band lives on with the upcoming Scandinavian Tour and their involvement in The Legends of Rock Tour of The UK and Europe. Mentallica continue into their 11th year with no signs of let up in the touring and their high energy shows. But don't take our word for it, See for yourself and experience the energy of their performances which not only replicates the sound of Metallica but carries the spirit of the band with it! These guys live and breathe it....and so will YOU.....

DECEMBER 21ST - WHO'S NEXT

Who's Next are the UK's premier live tribute to The Who. They capture a magical point in time when many believe that The Who were the greatest rock and roll band on earth. Who's Next's live show aims to recreate this period in the early 1970's with the aid of authentic stage wear and instruments. The result is a time capsule ride back to the days of Live at Leeds, The Isle of Wight Festival, Tanglewood and the Fillmore shows. It is a must for any Who fan! Their set includes all of Pete Townshend's classic pop songs from adrenaline-fuelled Mod classics such as “I can't explain”, “Substitute” and “Anyway, Anyhow, Anywhere” to the psychedelic imagery of “Tommy's” “Pinball Wizard”, “Sparks” and “Amazing Journey”, not forgetting rock anthems like “My Generation”, “Baba O'Riley” and a show-stopping version of “Won't Get Fooled Again”. Since the band first formed in the summer of 2003 they have toured extensively in the UK and in Europe. Who's Next have performed at Europe's most prestigious music venues and festivals. In August 2007 they played to an audience of over 6,000 people at the Bulldog Bash, Europe's largest biker's festival.

DECEMBER 22ND - THE RAMONAS

The Ramones are one of the most influential punk rock bands in history. Although most of the band have passed away (RIP Joey, DeeDee and Johnny) their legacy lives on and they have become legends. They have a huge legion of dedicated fans and there are more people in this world who own a Ramones t-shirt than don't.

The Ramonas have been formed in honour of the Ramones. Clare is a huge (no pun intended) fan and after having backed up Marky Ramone as Johnny at the Underworld in England, became obsessed with the idea of forming her own Ramones tribute band so she could always play more Ramones songs and help keep the memory of her favourite band alive, but with the twist of being an all girl band - girls in skimpy clothing with big boots rocking hard and playing Ramones songs is the recipe for a great night out in anyone's books.

Due to the fact that all the girls involved in The Ramonas kick some serious ass and are all in other bands also, there are a large number of girls involved, so the lineup depends on who is not on tour at the time.
The Ramonas try to capture the magic which the Ramones had in their early days. The on stage energy level is intense to put it mildly. Unfortunately it will never be possible to see the Ramones live again so the Ramonas are the next best thing for any Ramones fan. The intention of a Ramonas show is for everyone present to have a really good time, rocking out to really great, timeless tunes being played really well and with enthusiasm.

DECEMBER 23RD - ENRAGED

Enraged are a Rage Against The Machine tribute band from Leicestershire, formed in late 2008 and currently touring the UK with support from Leicester based group Axis Mundi. Since Enraged became active we have strove to recreate the raw, intense sound of a live Rage Against The Machine show with the same passion which created this politically laced musical collision of anger and rebellion and take into our hearts the message of the renegade. RATM’s message was spread through the rhythms of metal fused funk, and we recreate this music as a tribute because it’s the music that we love and the music that inspired us. If listening to RATM makes you feel calm like a bomb then come ignite with us and feel the funk blast!

If our sounds get your feet tapping and your blood boiling please message us for gig bookings and we will consider any and every venue inside and across the UK.

Political activism is encouraged, parties are parties and dancing is fun, but when you go home after a concert take some of that passion with you and think about where it came from. A corrupt world swollen with greed is just waiting to take advantage of socially bred robots. Wake up and question everything, don’t settle for nothing, think for yourselves, express your opinions and fight for the right to do so. If you've found your freedom and know your enemy then help others to roll right. There's a beautiful world out there, lets take the power back.
