In 1986 a young Coventry band (Faceaway) recorded several demo tracks produced by Neol Davies of the Selecter. The demo won a midlands song-writing contest, which gave a showcase support at the Marquis in London as the prize. Faceaway continued to gig for a couple of years, but the band lost its momentum, and the guys went their separate ways.
Karl Bristow (Vocals / Rhythm Guitar) became a guitar maker with Patrick Eggle Guitars, studied Music Business and Technology, and continued to perform with various cover bands.
Brent Taylor (Percussion / Backing Vocals) became a roadie for the Selecter, and then moved to Israel for a while before finally settling back in Coventry.
Darren Jones (Bass guitar / Backing Vocals) worked in engineering, but never lost his passion for music and still owns that bass guitar from the Faceaway days.
A chance meeting in summer 2005 saw the beginnings of the re-formation, and on January 5th 2008 the band played their first gig as Pressure Pill.
Jeff Farmer (Lead Guitar) joined Pressure Pill in March 2009. Jeff was formerly the guitarist and co-founder of Warwickshire PUNK band 'INSIDES', who (like Faceaway) first formed in the early 80’s – and then re-formed in 2003 for several gigs.
The current line up is the strongest yet recieving positive feedback from members of the viewing public who have followed the band from conception.
The current set list includes covers from bands - The Killers, Stereophonics, Kings of Leon, The Kooks, The Pigeon Detectives, Feeder, Foo Fighters, U2, Blondie, The Jam and others.
