Charity Band Day this Sat 01/08/09 @ The Fleur De Lys Nuneaton

First we would like to say thanks to all the bands and helpers as this is all for Charity In aid if Acorn Children..s Charity & Children..s Liver Disease, These are great Charities The Band line up is as follows and we are very proud to present:-

also the day starts from 12pm, We will have other activities like BBQ. Bouncing Castle, Face Painting, Rifle Range, Hook a Duck, Raffles, Cake Stalls and many more, We even have some of our regular lads dressing up in drag all for sponsor, this will be a fund day & Night, and we as the pub are giving 10% of our daily take to charity, Please come down and support 2 Very worthy causes.

at 20.45...is that a real band name? or just the allotted time for fun?

also, can we not have king hermit on at about 14.00? it'd be so much easier for me to get down and see them then

:-_ fun as in see how many people do crazy stuff to get as much money in as possible :-) King Hermit are in a really good time slot, have had a few questions about when they are on.

ah right, sounds cool! good line up like, gonna be a bastard to be able to get down there in the evening though, i have an extremely tedious night round someones house that I've been roped into...

poor planning has this event clashing with C.R.Y. charity all dayer at the Railway Tav, with Jesus Deluxe and co, wish promoters would check each others diaries!

i've already committed my support at CRY, but all the best for this, both fantastic and worthy causes

edit, Max Hollyman must be about 80 now, he was doing the rounds when i was a wee Rig

I think I saw Max Hollyman at my auntie's 80th birthday bash recently, wasn't he Brylcreem Champion 15 years running?

We chose that date sometime ago and our day is about family`s and raising money for a good cause, thats why i think we have a good line up and can not thank the bands enough. and all the people who have or getting involved like John Oliver from the Sound Foundry :-)

The time is fine for us, we are playing 5 as side in the day ( also for charity) so will be coming down early evening

Whats this about a five a side tourney?

At AT7 for Stews song 4 emma charity thing, message him see if he's got places left.

I too wish that promoters would check each others diaries - can't ever be good for either charity, splitting the potential audience.

Cross fingers that both do well - the TAV back garden is a great spot and the Fleur is a really really promising venue too with a real nice set up.

like you say, hopefully both will do well, CRY is close to my heart with my sons condition.

I do actually notice a bit of band sharing going on between the 2 said events

All of which played superb and many thanks to everyone for coming, we managed to raise £870 which was great. Also dont forget we have live bands every friday.

Max Hollyman was brilliant! I'd love to see him perform at more gigs - I reckon he'd go down a storm........ bit of a 'David Dickinson Effect'.
